How to cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription

Quick answer: If you pay through the App Store or Google Play, the app company can't cancel it for you, and neither can we. Only you can, in your phone's settings. It takes about a minute, and it's free.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the subscription you want to end.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. If you don't see it, it is already cancelled.

Mac

  1. Open the App Store and click your name at the bottom left.
  2. Click Account Settings, then Manage next to Subscriptions.
  3. Click Edit next to the subscription, then Cancel Subscription.

Android (Google Play)

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile picture at the top right, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the subscription, then Cancel subscription, and follow the steps.

Before you cancel

Paying the company directly instead?

If you pay by card or PayPal straight to the company, we can cancel it for you and chase them until they confirm. $5, or your money back.
