How to cancel Planet Fitness

Quick answer: Most Planet Fitness clubs only accept a cancellation in person at your home club or by a letter sent by certified mail. Some members can cancel online, depending on how they joined.

Step by step

Find your home club (the club where you joined) and your membership or key tag number.
Sign in to your Planet Fitness account and look for a cancel option under your membership. If there isn't one, go to the next step.
Go to your home club and ask to cancel, or mail the letter below to your home club by certified mail with a return receipt.
Get a written confirmation, or keep the certified mail receipt as proof.
Check your bank statement on the next billing date to make sure the charges stopped.

Before you cancel

Read your agreement for an annual fee or a notice period before you cancel.
Pay any balance you owe first. Unpaid fees can hold up a cancellation.
Keep a copy of your letter and the mail receipt.
